I recently finished the installation of a 900mm square shower tray and glass unit in Tavernspite, Pembrokeshire, which was to replace a old 750mm square unit. I found as i took the old unit out and tiles off the wall, it left a very poor plaster board surface to re tile onto for the new unit. I decided that the best course of action was to use a good quality 1/2 marine ply. This was fitted to the old plaster board with plaster board fixings (Heavy duty) and a suitable bonding agent. The extra strength allowed me to fit the new shower directly through the tiles and into the ply behind giving a good solid fit and one that should last for a good few year to come. This was a job which i was asked to complete after doing a oil boiler repair.
